History

Nearly 40 years ago, in 1966, Bill Cranford Sr. and Larry Phippin came together to form C & P Contractors. This was a 2 man, one truck operation that started with little more than the determination and high work ethic of the 2 men. Beginning their work together in the roof replacement end of the business, they soon caught the eye of a national home builder in Montgomery County. In the early 70’s, Larry Phippin left the partnership and Bill Cranford changed the company name to Cranford Contractors. He went on to expand the company further into new construction without loosing sight of it’s roof replacement roots.

Through the 70’s and 80’s, the company experienced promising growth each year. Builders, local and national alike, soon bestowed upon Cranford Contractors the reputation as one of their contractors they could rely on. This reputation building time was very important in establishing the business philosophies that would become the corner stones of our company today. They all can be summed up quite effectively with this simple goal, “Give The Customer What They Need”.

The 1990’s and beyond 2000 have been formative years for Cranford Contractors, as well. Far from falling behind new business technologies and the ever advancing world of construction, we have endeavored to incorporate and welcome every new technology available. We are proud to be a part of the better and more safely built homes of today. This, along with the excitement we have towards new office based technologies, allows us to more swiftly and effectively provide for the needs of all of our customers.

Cranford Contractors has received many awards from national builders over the years. We have participated in and headed up trade councils that have provided us with professional recognition. These things, while appreciated, can never bring to us the satisfaction that comes from a homeowner’s unsolicited referral or the job site superintendent that says, “You’re one of the ones I can count on”. These are our goals and our true rewards.
